Editing the Event Donation Category
Admins will not be able to edit the donation category, the designation fields, the payment option fields or the reusable fields added to the event donation category through the pencil/paper icon next to the field. You will be able to edit rich text through this icon.
Admins will have the ability to remove fields through the red 'X" icon from the event donation category with the exception of the designations and the donation field. When these fields are deleted through the red 'X' they will display as disabled on the donations settings and admins would have the ability to add them back.
The following options will be available under Manage Category on the event donation category:
-
Donation Settings - This option will open a new window allowing you to edit the settings on the donation category. The options from the campaign that were editable when adding the donation category will be the only campaign options that can be updated. For example, if Gift Matching was not on for the campaign, the admin would not have been able to add it when adding the donation category to the event so they would also not be able to edit the Gift Matching option.
- Add Rich Text - Allows you to add additional text to the donation category.
-
Add Existing Fields - This option will be available to admins, but the only existing fields that can be added are Reusable Fields. The Reusable Fields folder will include only reusable fields from the selected campaign to eliminate the issue of a reusable field from another campaign not showing up in the campaign export. When the donation comes in through the donation campaign the donation is captured in the campaign form export. Once the field has been added to the donation category admins will only be able to move or delete the field. Admins will not be able to edit the field settings for the reusable field, so whatever is applied to the field on the campaign will be applied to the field on the event donation category. As a best practice, reusable fields should not be set to required on the campaign. NOTE: Quick Add Field will not be available on the donation category since you can only add reusable fields from the campaign to this category.
- Sort Fields - Allows you to sort the fields on the event donation category.
-
Remove Category - Admins have the ability to remove the donation category from the event.

Business Rules Around Editing an Event Registration
Member View
If a member/user comes back into the event to edit their registration they will not be able to donate again. The existing verbiage around the event tickets will still be included, but the donation category will be removed. There will be no verbiage to the user letting them know that they previously donated, the option to donate is just not available when editing the registration. If the user did not make a donation during the first registration process, the donation category will still not be displayed. The donation category is only available the first time through the event registration.
Admin View
On the admin side, once the user has completed the form the donation category is displayed, but the fields are not editable. There is verbiage at the top of the category explaining that the category is not editable after the initial donation. The admin should still have the ability to manage the category, but not submit new values in the fields.
