Select the Polls Content Module and drag and drop it onto the page where you want it to appear.  The module will be placed above the area that is shaded in light blue.

    • Deny Access to the following:  You may also exclude certain groups from the Audience by using this checkbox.  Then, choose from the previously created list of roles and use the arrows to select a group to exclude. For example, you could include Everyone in the Audience except the Class of 2008:
      • Select Everyone in the first list box.
      • Click the checkbox to Deny Access to the following
      • Select Class of 2008 in the second list box.

Create a New Poll Question

  • Click Create New Poll.
  • Start Date - Enter the date when the poll will begin appearing to users.
  • End Date - Enter the date when the poll will stop appearing to users.
  • Priority - Enter a number to determine which poll will display to users (in conjunction with any roles you have applied). Only one poll gets visible to a user for each poll module. Unless the poll is role-based, the poll with priority #1 gets visible to the user.

NOTE: Only one poll gets displayed to a user at a time. Users get to see the highest priority poll for the Audience they fit in. If you have several polls during the same time frame, a role-based poll needs to be a higher priority to show to a user who fits the role. For example, the user gets to see a poll with the Audience of "Everyone" if it is a higher priority than the role-based poll they are also eligible to see.

  • Audience:  Select who you would like to be able to view the poll. (The Audience for an specific poll can be different than the Audience for the poll module.)
